Asian Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network convenes first Executive Committee meeting in Bangkok. The Executive Committee of the Asian Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network (AECEN) met for its first official meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 17, 2005, to finalize network establishment and plan network activities. Committee members approved the AECEN Charter and 2006 Work Plan, and devised new strategies for strengthening and expanding the network. Network members include environmental agencies from the People’s Republic of China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. USAID and ADB are providing technical assistance in support of AECEN efforts to promote improved compliance with environmental regulations in Asia.
