At a workshop held at the Asian Development Bank on March 6, 2009, the Asian Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network (AECEN) joined with the ADB and the Environmental Dispute Coordinator Commission of Japan to promote mechanisms for environmental dispute resolution in Asia. Dr. Monthip Sriratana Tabucanon, the Inspector General of Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and former head of Thailand’s Environmental Dispute Prevention and Resolution Center, shared Thailand’s successful experience with environmental dispute resolution as a potential model for other countries in the region.
