Bali, Indonesia - November 24-26, 2008

The Ministry of Environment (MOE) of Indonesia, in partnership with AECEN, convened the AECEN 2008 Regional Forum in Bali, Indonesia. The objectives of this three-day event were to:

• Share best practices from stakeholders on environmental compliance and enforcement with a focus on challenges and solutions for effective decentralization of compliance and
  enforcement functions
• Present the AECEN Award for Outstanding Service and Commitment by a Woman; Conduct focused workshops on: (1) agency institutional capacity, (2) natural resources
  damages assessment, and (3) climate change and enforcement
• Share innovative approaches in Indonesia on strengthening environmental compliance and enforcement
  
• Present progress on AECEN member-to-member “twinning” initiatives
• Share member views on AECEN activities and priorities
