The bottling plant in Hapur has been under scrutiny by the National Green Tribunal India's ‘Green Court ‘– since 2015, and a number of inspections by government regulators have found the plant to be flouting environmental laws in India, and also operating without valid licenses, or No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Commercial use of public parks irks Bahria Town residents

ISLAMABAD: Bahria Town has illegally converted 64.40 kanal (41,636 Sq. yards) land designated for parks into commercial plots in Phase-IV, Daily Times has learnt.

Bahria Town has earned around Rs 1.5 billion by selling amenity land. Taking notice of the protests waged by the residents, Capital Development Authority (CDA) and courts have barred the Bahria Town from violation of by-laws.

Bad practices: Corruption probe initiated against top Pak-EPA officials

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a probe into the conduct of top Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) officials for their alleged involvement in massive irregularities and corrupt practices, documents available with the Express Tribune reveal.

According to a letter issued by the FIA Anti Corruption Circle, the agency is holding an enquiry against senior Pak-EPA officials. An official at the environmental watchdog confirmed that the FIA had contacted the agency’s head and was probing corruption charges.
