SHC issues notices to ministry, DHA

Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notices to Federal Ministry of Environment, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) chief secretary and others on appeal filed by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation against stay order regarding construction work on a flyover and two underpasses in Clifton area.

KMC challenged the SHC’s single bench stay order against construction work of underpass and flyover project in Clifton area, being financed and executed by a private builder and developer to facilitate visitors of its multistory project.

Sinharaja Boundary bickers

So it comes as no surprise when authorities and environmentalists are once again bickering over the boundaries of Sinharaja. Tunnel-road projects subjected to feasibility studies

The four highways under the RM6.34 billion tunnel–road project have been subjected to full compliance to individual feasibility studies and detailed design works (FSDD), which includes detailed environmental impact assessment (DEIA) studies.

Or else, the particular highway project would just end there.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng disclosed here today that each highway under the mega project would have its own separate FSDD.

Under the arrangement, FSDD report of a highway would not affect others so long their respective studies gave them the nod to go ahead.

Six lane track from Enderamulla to Ambepussa

Ports and Highways Project Minister Nirmala Kothalawala said the first phase of the project from Enderamulla to Ambepussa will have six lanes.

Peshawar High Court orders NAB to probe tree cutting in DI Khan

Colombo-Katunayake Expressway Project: Selecting development options through environment-based planning approaches

Colombo is the capital city of Sri Lanka, situated on the West Coast of the country. The proposed high-speed road link is between Colombo City and Katunayake, the location of the international airport, which is situated about 25 km north of Colombo. The project would fulfil a long-felt need not only to facilitate passenger and freight movements between the two points, but also to ease the traffic from and to the northern part of the country.

Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA): Karachi Hyderabad Motorway (M-9)

The existing 136 km Karachi-Hyderabad section of N-5 (popularly known as Super Highway) connects the port city of Karachi with the North of Pakistan. This section of the highway is amongst the most densely trafficked in the entire country, the existing highway is serving heavy traffic volume with large portion of truck traffic. The route is also the shortest possible distance between the two cities i.e. Karachi and Hyderabad and feeds into the main North – South Links i.e. National Highway N-55 (Indus Highway) and the National Highway N-5 (Grand Trunk Road).
