TAIPEI, Taiwan -- An administrative high court has voided the construction and operation permits for a controversial seaside resort project in Taitung, but stopped short of ordering that its buildings be demolished.
The Kaohsiung Administrative High Court's verdict comes closely on the heels of another ruling that bans the developer of the Miramar Resort Hotel in Shanyuan Bay from resuming construction, which is almost complete.
The Miramar project has been in limbo for years due to environmental concerns.
