Thailand Prepares Policy Framework on Addressing Soil Contamination with Assistance from Japan |

Sep 17 2009 Thailand’s Pollution Control Department (PCD) in partnership with other line agencies has adopted a new policy for addressing soil contamination, a major national environmental challenge. With technical assistance from experts from the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) of Japan, PCD organized a series of consultation workshops and technical exchanges to support development of the new policy framework.
In meetings from September 14-17, 2009, PCD presented its draft policy and obtained further feedback from practitioners from Japan and Malaysia.
