Metro Bus Service EIA report released

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study of multi billion Metro Bus Project stated that the proposed project is expected to improve public transport facility with dedicated lanes reducing accidents and consumption of time and fuel.

“The project will generate new opportunities for skilled/unskilled manpower. The total environmental cost has been worked out to be Rs178.37 million that includes Rs429,000 (monitoring cost), Rs100,000 (environmental training cost) and Rs177,844,674 (plantation cost),” it said.

Environment Impact Assessment for Singapore's Cross Island Line to start next year

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will call a tender in the first quarter of next year for a consultant to conduct an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the future Cross Island Line.

This assessment will focus on the portion of the MRT line around the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, and determine how various alignments could affect the reserve.
