Rathupaswala test results sent for final report

A Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) spokesman said the laboratory tests on soil, mud and water samples in Rathupaswala were concluded last Monday, and the results were sent for the compilation of the final report.

Investigations on the cause of water pollution in Rathupaswala were carried out by GSMB on the direction of Environment and Renewable Energy Ministry and on a court order.

The National Green Awards to recognize industrial Enterprises and other sectors such as Hotels, Schools, Local Authorities which are operating in an environmentally friendly manner, was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The event was organized by the Central Environmental Authority which is the main regulatory agency for environmental protection and Management in Sri Lanka.
