A Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) spokesman said the laboratory tests on soil, mud and water samples in Rathupaswala were concluded last Monday, and the results were sent for the compilation of the final report.
Investigations on the cause of water pollution in Rathupaswala were carried out by GSMB on the direction of Environment and Renewable Energy Ministry and on a court order.
The field tests were concluded by August 10. Thirty five soil samples, 106 mud samples in paddy fields, and 52 water samples in paddy fields had been collected within a range of 30km distance from the factory in question.
The spokesman said the results and decisions based on them were presented at the committee meeting conducted by the Gampaha District Secretariat to compile the final report.
