AoT commits to expanding Suvarnabhumi

Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) has signed three contracts worth 14.9 billion baht to expand Suvarnabhumi airport as the government gears up efforts to turn Thailand into the region's aviation hub.

The first contract worth 12 billion baht involves Italian-Thai Development Plc (ITD), hired to construct a concourse, parking bays and a tunnel in the airport's southern area.

AoT reviews upgrade plan

Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) is reviewing its terms of reference (ToR) for the second phase of the Suvarnabhumi airport upgrade.

Chairman Nitinai Sirismatthakarn said on Friday the AoT has been going over details in the ToR draft.

Mr Nitinai said the ToR will be proposed to the National Council for Peace and Order's Committee on Public Budget Expenditures for its approval by next month.

The bidding process is set to be take place in November or December this year. The second phase of the airport development is worth around 56.5 billion baht.
